Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Support in Data Collection & Analysis

  • Search, filter, and validate data from various sources (websites, reports, etc.).

  • Use tools (Excel, Google Sheets, Python – if applicable) to organize, process, and visualize data.

  • Utilize AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to process or summarize information.

  • Create summary tables tracking new developments or policies in science and technology fields.

2. Support in Operations Model Development

  • Develop an understanding of real-world operational conditions and constraints in the power/energy sector and related environmental processes.

  • Adapt proven methods from the literature into practical, fit-for-purpose working models.

  • Translate these conditions into computational model elements and features using Python, Julia (clear, well-documented code expected).

  • Execute, compare, and validate models to explore alternative scenarios and pathways.

  • Work in a small team to ensure model analysis is rigorous.

3. Reporting & Documentation

  • Help consolidate analytical results into reports (Word, PowerPoint, Google Slides).

  • Create clear and concise presentation slides.

  • Participate in infographic creation and support internal communications.

💡 You will be supporting this workflow, contributing discrete, well-scoped components under senior guidance while continuously learning on the fly.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Education & Background

  • 3rd-year university students or recent graduates from fields such as Environment, Economics, Data Science, IT, or any discipline with strong analytical thinking.

  • No in-depth experience required, but interns must be eager to learn and willing to acquire new knowledge.

2. Basic Skills

  • English: Able to read and comprehend documents; basic communication is a plus (IELTS ~6.0+ or equivalent).

  • Proficient in office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), familiar with Google Drive/Docs, Notion.

  • Familiar with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude AI, etc.) for search, summarization, and outlining tasks.

  • Bonus: Experience with Python, GIS, or other data analysis tools (you’ll be guided – no need to be an expert).

3. Personal Qualities

  • Be a dynamic learner: quickly absorb new analytical tools, coding libraries, and domain knowledge as project needs evolve.

  • Careful, responsible, and organized.

  • Proactive, curious, and not afraid to try new things.

  • Friendly, communicative, and supportive team player.

  • Able to commit to a minimum of 3 months; longer-term commitment is highly welcomed.

  • We’re a compact team composed solely of data analysts and researchers focused on environmental, economics, energy, renewable energy and climate-change studies. New team members will independently tackle diverse project components and, when needed, collaborate in small teams.

  • Headquarters and most staff are based in Hà Nội + remote collaborators across from San Diego, to Galway, to Toronto, to Atlanta, to lowa, to Chapel Hill, across multiple time zones.
